Writer Samuel Odunsi Jr puts the album in the context of the Detroit scene and the emergence of this artist over the years from releasing mixtapes as part of the "Sick Em" series, working with his elder brother Royce da 5'9" and now finally stepping out in his own right with his first official studio album.

Unsurprisingly, props are given to Kid Vishis' skills on the mic, clear & concise delivery and range of subject matter, notably in this case on the track Beautiful Day "anytime an MC takes the time out to drop some positive knowledge should be an A grade in everyone’s book.".
