Brooklyn born Raper Joell Ortiz one quarter of lyrical powerhouse Slaughterhouse who recently signed to Eminem's Shady Records, returns to play London on Thursday 10th March at Cargo.

Since bursting on to the New York Hip Hop scene in 2004, the Brooklyn rapper established himself as one of the hottest properties in the game. Though signed to Aftermath, Dr Dre gave Ortiz permission to release his debut album, The Brick (Bodega Chronicles) on Koch, in 2007. The album centered on his dense, rhyme-based work, and featured notable collaborations with Styles P, Immortal Technique, Akon and the legendary Big Daddy Kane.

The Brick was met with considerable critical acclaim, landing Ortiz features in numerous hip-hop and mainstream publications including a much sought after Leader of the New School cover story for XXL Magazine, along with Papoose, Crooked I, Saigon, Lupe Fiasco and others. In April 2008 Ortiz parted way from Aftermath Entertainment, due to the reluctance of the label to put any projects out before the release of Dre's album.
